OBSERVANCE OF HOMOEOPATHY WEEK & WORLD HOMOEOPATHY DAY – 2026

1. Theme and Vision

The 2026 celebrations at our institution were anchored in a dual-purpose vision that bridged historical legacy with modern scientific advancement. The program was centered on the following core themes:

  • Commemorative Focus: Celebrating the 271st Birth Anniversary of Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy. This served as a tribute to his pioneering spirit and the foundational principles of the system.
  • National Vision: Aligning with the national theme, "Bharathiya Homoeopathy: Transforming Traditional Wisdom into Tangible Science

  • In accordance with the directives from the National Commission for Homoeopathy, the Government Homoeopathic Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, organized a series of events from April 1st to April 25th, 2026. The program aimed to promote the science of Homoeopathy through academic excellence, clinical outreach, and public awareness.

  • The World Homoeopathy Day celebrations on April 10, 2026, were formally inaugurated by Dr. T.K. Vijayan, Principal and Controlling Officer of Government Homoeopathic Medical College. In his inaugural address, Dr. Vijayan emphasized the institutional responsibility to maintain high standards in medical education and the importance of integrating traditional principles with modern scientific research.

    4. Academic & Scientific Excellence

    A series of high-level academic events were conducted to sharpen the clinical and theoretical proficiency of the students:


  • Scientific Sessions: Two extensive five-hour sessions were held on 08/04/2026 and 25/04/2026 (08:30 AM – 01:30 PM), focusing on evidence-based research and clinical protocols.

  • In-House Publication: To ensure the sustainability of the knowledge shared, the in-house publication of the research papers presented during the scientific sessions is currently under process. This initiative will provide a permanent record of the evidence-based findings and scholarly work produced by the faculty and students during the week.


  • Competitions: Students participated in an Essay Competition, a Debate and a Quiz fostering a spirit of healthy intellectual inquiry.


  • Creative Exhibition: A Chart Making & Exhibition was organized on 07/04/2026.

  • 5. Public Outreach & Media Presence

    The institution prioritized community engagement and public education through multiple channels:


  • Akashavani (All India Radio): Dr. Jeesper Susan John (Associate Professor, Dept. of Organon) delivered an insightful talk on national radio, bringing the principles of Homoeopathy to a broad regional audience.

  • Walk for Homoeopathy: On 07/04/2026 (08:45 AM – 10:00 AM), faculty and students conducted a public awareness march to advocate for natural healthcare.


  • Community Medical Camp: On 19/04/2026 (09:00 AM – 01:00 PM), a large-scale camp provided free medical consultations and medicines, reinforcing the college’s commitment to social welfare.


  • 6. Conclusion

    The 2026 World Homoeopathy Week at Government Homoeopathic Medical College successfully showcased the evolution of the system. Through the combined efforts of the faculty and students, the institution demonstrated that Bharathiya Homoeopathy is not merely a tradition, but a rigorous and evolving science dedicated to the welfare of the nation.
